Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Indiegogo campaign. We raised $14,900!
Opened in August of 2013, A Gathering of Stitches is a workshop studio for those practicing the fiber and textile arts. Our mission is to foster learning, expression, and development of needlework, to help people make useful, beautiful, and enduring items.
A Gathering of Stitches offers workshops on many aspects of the fiber and textile world including sewing, quilting, knitting, dyeing, screen printing, embroidery and much more. We also have specialized equipment for rent (including sergers, knitting machines, screen printing equipment and more). Instruction at all levels from absolute beginners to those looking to master a technique, or raise an avocation to an occupation is available. A Gathering of Stitches is a community for those consumed by the world of fiber and textiles, a haven for stitchers, a place to share, create, collaborate, solve, expand, network, explore or dabble. Come join us!

We are hard at work crafting an informative and useful website so that we can share with you what we are all about and what we will be offering. Our Calendar will be updated with all our doings as they are scheduled. In the meantime, read about what’s going on at our blog Stitches, or visit our Facebook page. We'd love to hear from you so please reach out to us with questions, comments, suggestions and ideas! We are also on the search for fiber and textile makers who need studio or production space. Our Studios page has all the details if you, or anyone you know, is looking for space...
We believe that working with a needle and thread, or yarn or ink, provides a wonderful respite to a day on the computer. The tactile experience of making something tangible, something that you use in your daily life, is an antidote to the digital age. While we love our computers, our blogs, pdfs of patterns, and the way they connect us to fellow knitters and sewists, it is the concrete stitch that binds us to our community, our history, and ourselves. A Gathering of Stitches will celebrate and support that experience. Come join us!
